For a few months that we’ve been inside, the goal of many is probably to venture out and explore the outside world if given the chance. Now that more and more businesses and public establishments are reopening their doors due to economic recessions, more and more people are taking this as an opportunity to go out. That said, medical experts warn the public about certain spots where coronavirus is most likely to spread.

Just because parts of the country are starting to reopen, it does not mean that the curve is already flattened. With a number of active COVID-19 cases continuously skyrocketing across the world, there should be no guaranteed reason to feel safe at all. Still, the best way to avoid and (hopefully) stop the virus from spreading is to observe social distancing, practise isolation and wear protective gears when doing essential errands outside.

If you must leave the house, let’s say for work and other primary tasks, do not forget to keep yourself and the others safe wherever you go. Unless you want to catch the virus, avoid staying in places where infection rates are at their highest. A survey ranks the following spots on how likely they are to cause coronavirus transmission. Check them out:

Bars and Buffet Restaurants

Bars and buffets are the  No. 1 access point for COVID-19 transmission where people do such activities that require removing of masks and other protective shields. Obviously, we couldn’t eat with our face masks on so we had to take them off inside such places. Chances are that there is loud talking among circles, customers gather by falling in line in a small, poorly ventilated space and everyone sits in close proximity to one another where anyone could be a carrier sharing glasses and bottles and all.

That’s one reason why most restaurants are sceptical when it comes to reopening their bars and buffet sections. Because soon as others have tried, a walloping 328% cases were unsurprisingly linked to bars in the US.

Public Transportations

Inside public trains and buses is another high-risk area for coronavirus transmission. Even with sitting and standing arrangements apart, public transportations are still considered a hotspot of infection vectors. It is more difficult to follow physical distancing in limited and poorly-ventilated spaces not to mention standing passengers sharing grab handles which may be contaminated.

Fitness Centres

Physical fitness has been an essential immunity booster that helps fight against infections and diseases. However, medical experts assert that fitness centres are a health risk these days. There’s a reason why commercial cleaning and sanitising is a must in all public facilities today. For the record, gyms have multiple shared touch points that may be contaminated and heavy breathings can release up to ten times as many respiratory droplets as a cough,  making them a risky place for viral transmissions.

If you want to stay in shape, you can always follow workout and yoga sessions online and lose some extra fats from the comfort of your home.

Beauty Salons

Hair and nail salons have recently reopened their doors and became another critical area where viral transmission is most likely to happen. Not only do salons encourage close proximities for a period of time but they also have plenty of contaminated touchable surfaces. If you are in desperate need of a haircut, contact your go-to salon to confirm their safety and sanitary policies.

Churches

Even places of worship could be a risky spot these days. Most churches conduct practices that increase the likelihood of viral transmission. These include gathering indoors for a long period of time, singing loudly and sharing of food. In this case, many churches have started conducting online mass and limited the number of participants during congregations and worshippings.
